School annual day

NEW DELHI NOV. 17 . The 48th annual day and prize giving function of Springdales School, Pusa Road, was held on Sunday on the school grounds. While the Vice-Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University, G. K. Chadha, was the chief guest, Member of Parliament, Sunil Dutt, was the guest of honour.

The evening's programme started with a presentation by the school orchestra followed by a spirited and melodious rendering of the "earth song'' by the school choir. After listening to the songs, Mr. Dutt, who was moved by the performance, said that the future of the country was in safe hands.

The prizes for academic proficiency and excellence in co-curricular activities were given away by Prof. Chadha and Mr. Dutt. A ballet, "Spirit of Freedom'' was presented by the senior students on the occasion. The school principal, Ameeta Mulla Wattal, presented the report tracing the progress made in the last one year.
