By Our Staff Reporter

CHENNAI NOV. 17. A dozen NCC cadets from two city colleges will go on a motorcycle expedition around the State to spread awareness of HIV/AIDS.

The cadets will play folk songs, perform streetplays and distribute pamphlets about AIDS during their 2,500-km ride through 12 towns over two weeks, beginning tomorrow.

The expedition has been organised as part of the NCC's community development programme, said Col. V.A.M. Hussain, Commander of the NCC Group Headquarters, Madras-A.

The team, which will be led by Capt. The cadets — eight from the D.G.Vaishnav College, Arumbakkam, and four from the New College, Royapettah — will bring their own vehicles. NCC officials will accompany them in a van with medicines and other materials.

The expedition will be flagged off by S.P. Raja Gopalan, Dean, Madras University's College Development Council, at the D.G.Vaishnav College. Commodore P.P. Singh, Deputy Director General of NCC, V.
