Letters to the Editor
Sir, I refer to Pope John Paul's call to Indian Christians to reject divisions based on caste (Nov. 18). The Pope's views require serious reflection by Christians as well as Hindus. Caste divisions stand in the way of integration and thwart spiritual growth. It is time Christians shed their separatist caste-based tendencies among themselves and Hindus upheld the universal outlook of Vedanta to eschew social discrimination.
