Diversify activities, cooperative institutions told

Pondicherry Nov. 18. The Chief Minister, N. Rangasamy, has called upon the cooperative institutions to diversify their activities and promote programmes to spread its wings to promote tourism, produce construction materials and also ceramic tiles in keeping with the rise in requirements of the people.

Distributing prizes to children who won the competitions conducted by Cooperative Union as part of the celebration of the 50th All India Cooperative Week here, he said that the rules relating to sanction loans should be simplified. Self Help groups should be provided assistance without delay.
