HYDERABAD. Nov. 19. The Private B.Ed College Managements Association has urged the Government to continue with the previous system of earmarking 15 per cent to the management and 85 per cent to the Convenor in the B.Ed admissions till a final settlement is reached on the management quota seats as per the Supreme Court guidelines. Mr. P. Papa Rao, president, and P. Rajeshwar Reddy, spokesperson of the association, said that there is lot of resentment of among the people, parents and students after the Government devised a new plan earmarking 50 per cent seats to the managements. However, in the present circumstances, the process of admission to the management quota would be cumbersome delaying the academic year and would also cost a lot to the students, as they have to submit applications in each and every college separately. They said the delay in counselling over the quota issue has already worried the students and parents. Mr. Reddy said that since G.O. No. 831, which specifies 15 per cent quota to the managements, was issued after the 11-member judgement of the Supreme Court there would not be any problem in continuing with the earlier system. He said the managements also understood that since it was only a caretaker Government, it would not be possible for coming out with a new policy decision and it was better admissions for this year were done according to the previous year's system. He also thanked the Government for allowing the present batch of B.Ed students to appear for the DSC examination to be conducted soon.
