Andhra Pradesh-Hyderabad
By Our Staff Reporter
Participating in a meet-the-press here on Wednesday, Mr. Reddy described films as better communicator than any textbook. "With films, a child willingly gains information on different subjects, from history to culture," he said. One of the three Telugu film entries at the festival, `Hero' is about a boy overcoming all hurdles, chiefly parental resistance, to pursue his passion for cycling. While his father wishes him to excel in studies, the boy persists with his desire to become a champion in cycling. "Instead of imposing their wishes, parents should support children if they are inspired to excel in sports. That's the message my film aims to convey," he said. Commenting on the prevailing attitudes and high budget efforts that dominate the industry, Mr. Reddy said filmmakers were aiming at big profits with their ventures. "There is no sensible effort these days. With the high risk film making in vogue, the producer earns crores if he succeeds, else he turns a pauper," he quipped.
