Israeli team to visit Hyderabad

By Our Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD Nov. 22. A 16-member agri-technology delegation from Israel will visit Hyderabad in the first week of December as part of expanding trade ties between the two countries and develop strategic initiatives with local companies.

Disclosing this to reporters here on Saturday, the President of Indo-Israeli Chambers of Commerce and Industry (IICCI), Udu Ken Sagar, said the delegation, led by Israel's envoy to India, David Danieli, would also hold discussions with the Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, who is the Chairman of the task force for development of micro-irrigation in the country.

Stating that the visit was a follow-up of the Chief Minister's visit to Israel in September when he met some of the companies that have shown interest to invest in Andhra Pradesh, he said that the delegation members would also participate in a seminar during their two-day stay here.

Apart from AT (agri-tech), BT (bio-technology), ST (security-related technologies) and IT were the other areas which hold the potential for enhancing the cooperation between the countries. The trade volume between the countries was expected to increase to about three billion dollars in the next couple of years, Mr. Sagar added.
