Announcing the launch of the festival at a press conference in the Capital, the organiser, Brij Mohan, said: "It is an important event as we usually preach people who are interested, but the public at large who really crave for peace are not addressed. We hope to give the general public a chance to get a few moments of peace they long for.'' There will be mass mediation for people to feel at ease, he added. "Besides announcing the festival, it was also an occasion for religious leaders to come together on the platform. Stressing the need for peace, the chief priest, Dargah Hazrat Nizammuddin Aulia, Khawaja Ahmed Nizami Syed Bukhari, said: "It is tough but the Sufis always made success of a tough situation. It is important to stop the mindless violence in which innocent people suffer the most."
