Mufti Govt. tapping my phone: Farooq

New Delhi Nov. 25. The former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Farooq Abdullah, today alleged that the Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Government in Jammu and Kashmir was tapping his telephone as it feared that the National Conference was "planning to topple his Government."

"All my telephone lines are being tapped by the State Government as they fear that we will attempt to topple them," Dr. Abdullah told PTI here.

Asked whether he had lodged a formal complaint with the State and Central authorities, Dr. Abdullah said he had made the allegation openly.

"It is his (Sayeed's) deeds that will lead to toppling of his Government. I or my party will have no role to play in it."

Dr. Abdullah alleged that the political situation in the State was ``worse'' than during the Emergency of 1975 and "the State Government is trying to fabricate cases against my partymen. We are looking at the situation and we know that none of them is going to stand the scrutiny of the court of law.''
