By Manas Dasgupta
Announcing this after a meeting, the Director, IIM, Ahmedabad, Bakul Dholakia, said that efforts would be made to ensure that the dates did not overlap with any other examination schedule and preferably would be held on a Sunday. The IIM managements were keen on ensuring that the leakage of question paper did not cause time loss for the aspiring candidates and that the next academic year started as per schedule in June-July next. Dr. Dholakia maintained that under no circumstances could the papers have been leaked from the IIMs. Claiming that the IIMs adopted a foolproof system for preparation, printing and transportation of the question papers, he said the needle of suspicion pointed towards the printing press in Mumbai. Giving details of the system, he said the question papers from the printing press are handed over to the IIM representatives in sealed trunks which can be opened only with a set of two keys. The trunks bear the numbers given to each question paper and any paper missing can be detected immediately. The sealed trunks are opened barely minutes before the start of the examination at the different centres in the country.
