Ex-Minister's property attached

ERODE NOV. 25. The Chief Judicial Magistrate, Erode, today ordered attachment of two pieces of land and a car, worth Rs. 40 lakhs, belonging to the former DMK Minister, Anthiyur P. Selvarasu.

According to the police, the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Police, Erode, filed a case against Mr. Selvarasu, his wife, son and daughter stating that he earned money disproportionate to his income when he was Khadi and Village Industries Minister in the DMK Ministry in 1996-2001.

Charge sheets were presented to the former Minister and the others and the case is being conducted in the CJM court. The VAC police filed a petition in the court pleading for attachment of the property.
