Complaint against Tamaraikkani

By Our Staff Reporter

SRIVILLIPUTTUR NOV. 25. The AIADMK Srivilliputtur town secretary, P. Krishnan, today preferred a complaint with the town police, demanding action against the DMK leader, R. Tamaraikkani, on the charge that he made defamatory speeches against the Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, on Monday, in spite of a High Court order banning him from addressing public meetings.

According to the police, Mr. Tamaraikkani, at the end of a silent procession organised in the town to pay respects to the Union Minister, Murasoli Maran, allegedly attributed his death to the police ``high-handedness'' during the arrest of the DMK president, M. Karunanidhi, in June 2001, and termed the AIADMK rule "tyrannical."

The police were yet to file a case. Cadres from the DMK, the Congress and Communist parties participated in the procession.
