K. Varun (four wickets) and K. Ravishankar (three) restricted Tamil Nadu to 154 runs in its first innings. Only Gopinath (36, 4x4) and B. Sriram (26, 4x2) batted well for Tamil Nadu. At the Zinc Stadium, Abhishek Hegde slammed a fine century (109, 6x1, 4x17) and helped Kerala gain a 67-run lead over Goa in spite of S. Bandekar's five wicket haul. Rohan Prem (33,6x4) and R. Fernandez (24) supplemented Hegde's effort. N. Kamat picked up four wickets. At close Goa was 61 for three. Hyderabad was 79 for the loss of three wickets at the ACA-VDCA Stadium in reply to Karnataka's first innings total of 284. Karnataka's overnight batsmen Pavan and Avinash completed half-centuries. Bharat Kumar claimed four wickets and Aaron Paul, two for Hyderabad. The scores: Andhra 212 and 37 for two in 11 overs vs Tamil Nadu 154 in 87.4 overs (M. Gopinath 36, B. Sriram 26, K. Varun four for 49, K. Ravishankar three for 33). Goa 164 and 61 for three in 29 overs vs Kerala 231 in 66.2 overs (Abhishek Hegde 109, Rohan Prem 33, S. Bandekar five for 45, N. Kamath four for 46). Karnataka 284 in 141.4 overs (K.B. Pavan 65, Avinash 54, Ganesh Satish 49, Sunil Kumar Jain 34, Cheluva Raj 30, Bharath Kumar four for 101) vs Hyderabad 79 for three in 43 overs (Sushanth 29, Bharat Kumar 28).
