Assam well placed

Guwahati Nov. 25 . Hyderabad was struggling at 199 for four in reply to Assam's 537 for nine declared on the third day of the Elite Group `B' Ranji Trophy tie played at the Maligaon Railway Stadium here.

After Assam declared at its overnight score of 537 for nine, Hyderabad openers Daniel Manohar and Nandkishore made a shaky start.

No. 3 Aniruddha Singh (68) and No. 4 Vinay Kumar (53) played well for the visitors. Vinay's 53 studded with two sixes and five fours.

The scores: Assam 537 for nine vs. Hyderabad 199 for four (Aniruddha Singh 68, Vinay Kumar 53).
