Four policemen suspended

BANGALORE Nov. 25. Four policemen on night duty, who were found sleeping at the Hanumanthanagar police station in the early hours of Friday, have been placed under suspension for dereliction of duty.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (South), Bhaskar Rao, who was on his night rounds, stopped at the Hanumanthanagar station around 4 a.m. when he found a Hoysala jeep and a Cheetah motorcycle parked on the premises.

Inside the police station, he found members of the Hoysala and Cheetah squads, the Station House Officer (SHO), and a constable sleeping.

Those placed under suspension are Channegowda and Jayanna, assistant sub-inspectors of police, Nanjundaiah, head constable and SHO, and Srinivasa, constable. The suspension orders were issued on Monday.
