Letters to the Editor
Sir, The Union Finance Minister, Jaswant Singh's assurance ( Nov. 24 ) that all transactions made so far on fake stamp paper would be valid meets the ends of justice. It sets at rest the uncertainty in the minds of all those who used such stamp paper for their transactions believing that it was genuine.
Ram Gurbaxani,
Sir, The scam is a slur on the law enforcement agencies. The involvement of a senior officer of the Maharashtra police's intelligence wing is disturbing. The intelligence department should have exposed this racket much earlier.
S.S. Venkata Subramanian,
Sir, I feel sad about the number of scandals cropping up in every field. Is there any light at the end of the tunnel?
Vedamurthy Sarvothaman,
