Sir, While shopping for toys in the U.K., where my daughter lives, I have found that nine out of every 10 items there are manufactured in China. Not a single one made in India is seen. Is there an explanation for this? The article `Judging the economy' ( Nov. 25 ) says that cotton exports form an important segment of exports from India, but going by my experience in the U.K. I see very little evidence of that on the shop floors.
