Bihari students return from A.P.

By K.Balchand

PATNA Nov. 26. Fourteen Bihari students of Navodaya Vidyalaya in Andhra Pradesh "escaped" from their hostel unable to bear the torture by their seniors and returned here early today.

They were part of the exchange programme team of 24 which was sent from the Jawahar Nehru Navodaya Vidyalaya in Vaishali district in June last. The remaining students, two boys and eight girls, however, are staying back in the Andhra Pradesh school. These boys who returned today alleged that their seniors, belonging to Standard XI and XII, showing anti-Bihari feelings asked them to go back to their State.

Incidents of their torture increased after the violence against Biharis in Assam. They said their complaints with the Principal went in vain and the two teachers, who sympathised with them found themselves helpless.
