Naxalite killed

GUNTUR NOV. 26. One naxalite belonging to the outlawed People's War (PW) was killed in an encounter with the police in the early hours of Wednesday in Bellamkonda mandal in Guntur district. Police said the special police party stumbled upon a group of naxalites in the forest between Konduru and Nindujerla in Bellamkonda mandal around 2 a.m. The naxalites and police exchanged fire.

Later, the body of one Maria Das alias Prasad alias Krishna was recovered. The slain naxalite was a member of an action committee of the Guthikonda Bilam Area Committee.
