Nayanar flown to Delhi for treatment

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM Nov. 26. The former Chief Minister, E. K. Nayanar, was today taken to the Escorts Hospital in New Delhi by a special flight for treatment.

Mr. Nayanar, who was admitted to the medical college hospital a week ago, following a heart attack, was taken to Delhi on the advice of experts.

The senior Congress leader, K. Karunakaran, accompanied by the Health Minister, P. Sankaran, and the Power Minister, Kadavoor Sivadasan, called on Mr. Nayanar at the medical college hospital shortly before he was departure to Delhi.

The Leader of the Opposition, V. S. Achuthanandan, also called on him in the morning.

The Kerala Assembly has sanctioned Rs. 15 lakhs for Mr. Nayanar's treatment.
