Russia hails ceasefire

MOSCOW NOV. 26. Russia has welcomed the ceasefire announced by India and Pakistan along the Line of Control.

The Russian Foreign Ministry today expressed the hope that "implementation of this agreement, as also of earlier initiatives put forward by New Delhi and Islamabad towards normalisation of bilateral relations, will lead to the strengthening of confidence-building measures between the two countries and a reduction of tension in South Asia in general."
