ERODE NOV. 26. There were records galore in the athletic meet conducted in the 46th State-level Republic Day sports meet at Erode from November 21 to 25.

In the Super Senior Girls' 1,500m race, V. Jansi Rani of C.S.M.A. HSS, MM Kovilur, Dindigul District clocked 4 minutes 58.8 seconds, breaking the old record of 5.05 minutes.

The results: Girls: 400m: C. Bhuvaneswari, Government Girls HSS, Erode, 58.8s (Old record 59.7s). 800m: N.C. Mohanal, Government Girls HSS, Erode, 2 m 18.4 s (OR 2.24.7 s). 100m: P. Lakshmi, Saran Tucker HSS, Palayamkottai, 15.7s (OR 16.2s). Senior Girls: Discus: A. Anicham, M.A.M. HSS, Kottaiyur, Sivagangai, 34.85 m (OR 31.47 mts). 400m: S. Dhivya, Government Girls HSS, Erode, 1.01.2 s (OR 1.02 s). 4 X 100m relay: St. Patric Anglo Indian HSS, Chennai, 53.4 s (OR 53.6 s). Super Senior Boys: Pole Vault: N. Vadivelu, N.N.A. HSS, Kadirnagar, Palayamkottai 3.65 m (OR 3.50m).

Senior Boys: 100m Hurdles: D. Suresh Babu, National College HSS, Tiruchi, 13.6s (OR 13.7 s). Discus: R. Ramdoss, Bharathi Vidyalaya HSS, Salem, 41.60 m (OR 41.43 m). Sub-Junior Boys: High Jump: V. Sirajudeen, St. Mary's HSS, AN Mangalam, Salem and B. Azarudeen of R.C. HSS, Puduvayal, Ramnad, 1.66 mts (OR 1.65 mts).
