Girls National under-17 tourney from Nov. 28

Udhagamandalam Nov.26 With the venue— the Breeks HADP Open air stadium in Ooty having been systematically prepared, the stage is set for the first girls under-17 National football championship 2003-2004 which is scheduled to open on November 28 to December 14.

Out of 19 State outfits which would be vying for honours six including Manipur, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Tripura are already in station.

The Tournament Director A.S.K. Rajendran said that while the underfoot conditions had been made conducive for conducting a national level tournament efforts were underway to improve the basic amenities.
