Maharashtra too good for Saurashtra

Rajkot Nov. 26 . Maharashtra defeated host Saurashtra by an innings and 79 runs to gain five points on the fourth and final day of their Plate `B' Ranji Trophy match here on Wednesday.

Resuming at 65 for three, Saurashtra continued with its lacklustre performance on the final day and was bundled out for 187 in 96.5 overs in its second innings.

K. Vaghela and J. Jobanputra made 36 each while R. Dhruv remained unbeaten on 28. For Maharashtra, Iqbal Siddiqui, C. Kulkarni and K. Adhav bagged three wickets each.

Brief scores: Saurashtra 177 & 187 (K. Vaghela 36, J. Jobanputra 36) lost to Maharashtra 443. — PTI
