India & World
By B. Muralidhar Reddy
At a function to mark Id, Mr. Jamali described the Indo-Pak. decision to observe ceasefire across the LoC as an Id gift for the people of both countries. The ceasefire could create a peaceful environment for settling the differences with India on Kashmir and other issues. Asked whether there was any possibility of a one-to-one meeting between him and Mr. Vajpayee at the SAARC summit, Mr. Jamali said, "I think he will be coming for the SAARC conference. I cannot rule out the meeting. We will extend full protocol to him. Hope there will be some reciprocity too."
