India skipper Mamta Maben called the coin correctly and decided to field first. Naushin was the star performer for India claiming three wickets including the White Ferns skipper Maja Lows and also being instrumental in running out Nicole Browne. Neetu David, the other tweaker was also successful grabbing two wickets. Naushin's final analysis read 27-16-36-3, while Neetu claimed two for 37 in 24 overs with 16 maidens. The scores: New Zealand 143 for seven (Katey Martin 46, Haidee Tiffen 38 batting; Naushin Khadeer three for 36).
