A Sanskrit release said it has selected Manushya Puthiran (Tamil) and Pankaj Mishra (English) for literature, Soma Wadhwa and Haideep Hardikar for journalism, Bharti Kher and Tallur L.N. for art, Manjiri Asanare Kelkar for music, Abhilash Pillai for performing arts and Abha Narain Lambah and Ratish Nanda for heritage conservation. In this the 23rd and 24th successive year of the awards, which are now being announced on a national basis for the 13th consecutive year, the award would carry a cash prize of Rs 20,000 and a citation plaque. Conducted under the auspices of the Sanskriti Pratishthan, a public charitable trust, the award also seeks to foster and preserve the cultural heritage of our country.
