PM denies reports on niece

LUCKNOW NOV. 27. The Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, today dismissed media reports that his niece, Karuna Shukla, was a chief ministerial candidate for Chhattisgarh. ``She is not even a candidate and there is no question of her becoming the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh,'' he told reporters here.

Mr. Vajpayee did not appear to lay much store by any one-to-one meeting with his Pakistani counterpart, Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali, on the sidelines of the SAARC summit in Islamabad next month. ``There is no difference between one-to-one meeting and a collective meeting. I am going there. If he meets, then I will be very glad,'' he said. — PTI
