Musician dead

VISAKHAPATNAM NOV. 28. Well-known mridangam player and music teacher, Chintalapati Varahalaraju, died here on Thursday. He was 89.

Varahalaraju was responsible for the revival of the old art form of `Panchamukhitaalaavadhaanam' in which two hands, two legs as well as the right shoulder is used simultaneously. He also taught vocal and instrumental music for over six decades.
