Five naxals killed in encounter

ADILABAD NOV. 28. Five suspected CPI-ML (Janashakti) group naxalites were killed in an encounter with police in Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra on Friday.

According to information, a police team was combing the Sironcha forest area when they sighted the suspected naxalites.

The extremists fired at the police party which returned fire resulting in the death of five naxals.

Among the slain naxalites was a woman.

The police recovered one self-loading rifle, six 8 mm rifles and some unexploded landmines from the scene of the encounter.

The identity of the slain naxalites is not known.
