Consumers need no longer worry about cable cuts or be at the mercy of cable operators or brood over sudden implementation of conditional access system, according to a spokesman of Technopark, recently-appointed, by Zee TV, sole distributor for the State. Zee TV, which obtained the country's first DTH licence, is in the process of appointing distributors throughout the country. The distributors will assign sub-dealers to reach out to subscribers. The Korean-made DTH set-up, comprising a dish antenna, a set-top box and a viewing card, costs the consumer an initial investment of Rs.7,495 and a monthly subscription of Rs. 110 for 50 channels. The initial amount includes subscription fees for the first three months. The channels offered on the DTH platform are: Zee TV, SABe TV, ZEE English, Reality TV, Alpha Bangla, Alpha Gujarati, Alpha Marathi, Alpha Punjabi, ETC Punjabi, Maa TV, Jaya TV, Nepal1, Raj TV, Raj Digital Plus, Raj Music, Vissa, ZEE MGM, Zee News, ZEE Cinema, CNBC India, BBC World, CNN, ZEE Music, ETC Music, Cartoon Network and Fashion Trends. "In the next six months, we will have another 50-100 channels. But the subscription fee will remain the same. About 40 homes in the city have already bought the DTH set-up."
