Six injured in group clash

By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD NOV. 28. Six persons were injured when a clash ensued between activists of the MIM and MBT in the old city on Friday night under the Bhavaninagar police station area.

The injured were shifted to the Osmania General Hospital.

Two MBT leaders -- Afroz and Azhar -- along with their supporters were allegedly attacked by a MIM leader, Razzak, at Talabkatta area.

Even as MBT leaders approached the Bhavaninagar police station to lodge a complaint, another group of MIM activists turned up at the station accusing MBT workers of attacking them.

After exchanging heated arguments, the two groups resorted to stone throwing. The police rushed additional forces and resorted to lathi-charge to disperse the crowds.

The Santoshnagar ACP, Venkat Rama Reddy, was holding discussion with the two groups when reports last came in. The situation was under control.
