Addressing presspersons here today, S. Ramadorai, director of the company, said these centres would enable banks, financial institutions and companies using direct marketing to use the infrastructure on a pay per use model for their mission critical business processes such as bills and statements. The offsite model, using advanced variable data printing (VDP) technology, would reduce costs of servicing and thus provide additional benefits to the customers. VDP was the most important driving factor in digital on demand printing, according to V. B. Shekar, Vice President, CMS Computers. Explaining the process involved, he said popular applications of VDP included printing of transactional documents such as bank statements, credit card bills and personalised cheque books, he said. The CMS Printing Solutions division was a fast growing segment of its facility management services enabling the clients access industry's most comprehensive range of document services and solutions, Mr. Ramadorai said. The company had a market share of over 50 per cent in deploying these as outsourced services, onsite, for banks telecom and credit card companies in India. The company's clientele included IDBI, HDFC, HSBC, Tata AIG and StanChart.
