CHENNAI NOV. 29. Northeast monsoon has been active over Tamil Nadu. Rainfall occurred at many places over Tamil Nadu and isolated rainfall occurred over Rayalaseema. Mainly dry weather prevailed over Kerala and dry weather prevailed over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Lakshadweep and Karnataka.

The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in centimeters are: Pondicherry Airport, Thirukattupalli (Thanjavur dt.), Nagapattinam and Thiruchirapalli 4 each, Adiramapattinam, Thanjavur, Vallam (Thanjavur dt.), Mayiladuthurai (Nagapattinam dt.), Aranthangi (Pudukottai dt.) and Pullambadi (Thiruchirapalli dt.) 3 each, Cuddalore, Chidambaram (Cuddalore dt.), Karaikal, Papanasam and Thiruvaiyaru (both Thanjavur dt.), Needamangalam and Thiruthuraipoondi (both Thiruvarur dt.), Sirkali (Nagapattinam dt.), Vedaranyam, Keeranur (Pudukottai dt.), Pudukottai, Ramanathapuram, Manaparai (Thiruchirapalli dt.) and Thiruchirapalli Airport 2 each and Red Hills (Thiruvallur dt.), Kovalam (Kanchipuram dt.), Parangipettai, Tondi, Sengottai (Thirunelveli dt.), Thammampatti (Salem dt.), Udumalpet (Coimbatore dt.), Chatrapatti (Dindigul dt.), Dindigul and Kodaikanal 1 each.

The minimum temperatures rose at a few places over Rayalaseema and at one or two places over coastal Karnataka, south interior Karnataka, north interior Tamil Nadu, rose at one or two places over the rest of Tamil Nadu, rest of coastal Karnataka, north Kerala and changed a little elsewhere over the region.

Belgaum Airport, Hyderabad Airport and Hakimpet Airport recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 16 degree Celsius in the plains of the region.

FORECAST (Valid until Monday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Lakshadweep. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over south interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema and Kerala. Mainly dry weather will prevail over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, coastal and north interior Karnataka.
