`Takeover of IMFL trade, anti-Tamil'

By Our Special Correspondent

MADURAI NOV. 29. The Janata Party president, Subramanian Swamy, has accused the State Government of initiating ``anti-Tamil action'' which went against the interests of Tamil Nadu.

Addressing newsmen here today, Dr. Swamy alleged that ``converting the Government into a trader of alcoholic drinks'' was one of the recent ``anti-Tamil actions.'' He charged the Government with ``colluding with the Kerala Government to postpone hearings'' on a public interest litigation petition filed by him in the Supreme Court for restoration of the full level of the Periyar dam.Dr. Swamy demanded a CBI probe into the fake stamp paper scam. The Janata Party, he said, would observe the birth anniversary of the former Tamil Nadu Minister, P. Kakkan, which falls on December 23, as `anti-corruption day' by organising a rally at Melur near here.
