Uma Shankar likely to head CBI

NEW DELHI
NOV. 29.
Uma Shankar Mishra will be the new Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation, Government sources said tonight.
Mr. Mishra, now Special Director of CBI, belongs to the 1968 batch of the Indian Police Service. The Orissa cadre officer will succeed P.C. Sharma who completes his term of over two years on December 6.
Mr. Mishra had earlier worked in the CBI in positions of Superintendent of Police and Deputy Inspector-General. He came to the CBI as Special Director in September last.
