Kerala-Thiruvananthapuram
By Our Special Correspondent
In a statement here today, Mr. Kumar said that groups from the ruling and Opposition fronts had joined hands with persons having black money to create a political crisis and undermine the Government. The Speaker, Vakkom Purushothaman, himself had stated that up to Rs. 1 crore had been offered to members of the House to switch sides. A Minister had claimed that there was proof for the payments. The KPCC secretary, K.P. Kunhikannan, had alleged that the Speaker too was involved in horse-trading, offer of money and positions. One thing that was clear from all this was that black money was flowing in the State. Effective steps were needed to unearth it, he said.
