Marad: Antony promises early CBI probe

Thiruvananthapuram Nov. 29. The Chief Minister, A.K. Antony, has assured a delegation of the Hindu Aikya Vedi that early steps will be taken to order a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the May 2 killings at Marad in Kozhikode.

According to a release by the Aikya Vedi here today, the Chief Minister had told a four-member delegation, led by its president, J. Sisupalan, that the Home Secretary had been entrusted with the task of obtaining legal advise from the Advocate-General in this regard. The delegation reminded the Chief Minister that Hindu religious organisations had fully cooperated with the Government in ensuring peace in Marad and a CBI probe into the incident was part of the settlement package. _ UNI
