Ceasefire along LoC

Sir, — This is with reference to the ceasefire along the India-Pakistan Line of Control, which hopefully will prepare a congenial atmosphere for the SAARC summit in January. Nevertheless, one cannot miss the underlying game of one-upmanship in Pakistan's statement that it will strictly adhere to the unilateral ceasefire irrespective of the Indian response. Having been the victim of terror from across the border, adhering to a complete ceasefire along the LoC will be impractical for India.
