Letters to the Editor
Sir, The West Bengal Government has chosen to ban the latest book by Taslima Nasreen stating that it contains matter that could cause "enmity between different groups on grounds of religion" ( Nov. 29 ). In this internet age, excerpts from the controversial portions can be read, obtained and downloaded. The ban will only serve to get some free-of-cost publicity for the author and arouse the curiosity of the reading public. R. Venkatesan Iyengar, Gulbarga, Karnataka
