Gagan Ajit Singh, Prabhjot Singh and Jugraj Singh figure from India in the Young Player of the Year nominations, while defender Dilip Tirkey and goal-keeper, Devesh Chauhan are in the list for the Senior Player of the Year. Ten players have been nominated for each category by the panel, which consisted of the top coaches, Ric Charlesworth (FIH master coach, Australia), Paul Lissek (FIH master coach, Germany), hockey writers, Bruce Hamilton (AFP, Australia), Sardar Khan (Daily News, Pakistan), S. Thyagarajan (The Hindu, India) and Patrick Rowley (Reuters, England). The panel was headed by the FIH vice-president from Venezuela, Tony von Ondarza. The list of nominations: Young Player of the Year 2003: Floris Evers (Netherlands), Alex Fabregas (Spain), Till Kriwet (Germany), Matias Paredes (Argentina), Grant Schubert (Australia), Gagan Ajit Singh (India), Jugraj Singh (India), Prabhjot Singh (India), Taeke Taekma (Netherlands) and Eduard Tubau (Spain). Player of the Year 2003: Sohail Abbas (Pakistan), Wassem Ahmed (Pakistan), Pablo Amat (Spain), Devesh Chauhan (India), Troy Elder (Australia), Brent Livermore (Australia), Jorge Lombi (Argentina), Teun de Nooijer (Netherlands), Xavier Ribas (Spain) and Dilip Tirkey (India).
