By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD NOV. 30. A visit to their relatives and friends proved fatal for two children Chaitanya Bharat (9) and Pardeep Kumar (2), who were killed when a speeding RTC bus hit the autorickshaw they were travelling in along with their family members, on the Narayanguda flyover on Sunday evening. Six other family members were injured in the mishap. The auto driver, Khaja Ibrahim, and another passenger, Rachana (13), who sustained serious injuries, have been admitted to the Apollo Hospitals, Jubilee Hills.

Mallamma (60), of Krishnanagar, Yousufguda, along with six of her family members was visiting her relatives at Malakpet and Golnaka. From Golnaka, the family boarded a three-wheeler to reach home. While the vehicle was going from Barkatpura to Narayanaguda, the bus coming in the opposite direction knocked the vehicle down and dragged it till the flyover's railing on the right killing Bharat and Pradeep on the spot.

The autorickshaw was totally crushed. Mallamma (60), Amruta Bai (40), Vishal Kumari (20), Prabhat Kumar (4) and Lata sustained injuries. Passers-by rushed to the rescue the victims and safely pulled out Prabhat who was trapped between the bus and the three-wheeler.

The angry public caught hold of the bus driver, Venkataswami, and thrashed him. He was, later, handed over to the Narayanaguda police.
