By Our Staff Reporter

BANGALORE NOV. 30. A special team of the city police has busted an inter-State medicine and cosmetics racket. The police team has arrested Kamalesh. P.Jain (28) from Magadi Road and Rakesh (22) from Sheshadripuram and recovered material worth Rs. 10 lakh from them.

Police said the accused, who were part of a gang, were allegedly stealing items from several shops in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu.

The gang used to burgle the shops at night, and store the stolen material, which included animal and human medicines, in its godown. These materials were later sold, the police said. The accused had stored the material in several rented shops in Moodlapalya. Cases had been booked against the accused for similar acts in Tamil Nadu, the police said.

Arrested: Shankarapuram police have arrested Abdul Sharief (21) from New Gurappanapalya on the charges of stealing air conditioners worth Rs. 60,000. The accused and his associates, acting as servicemen, allegedly took away four new air conditioners in a tempo on November 26.
