Hayden visits Indians in nets

BRISBANE Dec. 1. The Indian team had a surprise visitor in world-record holder Matthew Hayden during its nets at the Allan Border Field on Sunday.

Hayden, who didn't play the Pura Cup game for Queensland against South Australia in Adelaide which finished on Sunday, came to Indian nets and chatted with quite a few members of the team.

Hayden, who recently set a world record of 380 runs, the highest in Tests, has apparently been resting because of a niggle in his right foot.

Hayden spoke at length with Indian spinners Harbhajan Singh and Anil Kumble and later shared pleasantries with Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag. He closely watched the Indians at nets and after the visitors were through, he himself knocked around a few balls. — PTI
