Letters to the Editor
Sir, In the article, "Sustaining the Centre's myth" (Nov. 26), wholesome praise has been showered on the members of the All-India services for their success in achieving national integration and justifying ipso facto their continuation in their present form. That the iron frame is rusting was more than evident from the happenings in Gujarat. Many of the mandarins remain mute spectators when the nation's social fabric is being destroyed. If at all credit is due to anyone, it should be only to the sensible citizens of our country. R. Sundaram, Chennai
