A company statement says the growth has spread across all major motorcycle segments. The company had sold 2.07 lakh units in October against 1.65 lakh units sold during October 2002, registering a strong growth of 26 per cent.
Bajaj Auto
Aided by growth in executive and premium segments, Bajaj Auto has clocked a 17.4 per cent rise in motorcycles sales at 91,257 units in November over 77,732 units sold in same period last year. In the executive segment, Caliber 115 and Wind 125 together accounted for 21,855 units, up by 77 per cent as compared to 12,319 units while in the premium segment the Pulsar twins recorded a 45 per cent rise in sales to 26,572 units over last year November's 18,327 units, the company said in a release. Total two wheeler sales stood at 1.13 lakh units (1.12 lakh units).
TVS Motor
TVS Motor Company reported a 30 per cent decline in motorcycle sales during November at 48,052 units against 68,631 units sold in the same month last year. "The growth in November was lower than the market due to drop in sales of the two-stroke Max motorcycles," a company release said. Total two wheeler sales showed a negative trend with a 13 per cent decline, recording sales of 85,840 units last month as compared to 98,731 units sold in November 2002.
