Roadshows for futures trading in tea

UDHAGAMANDALAM: The UPASI Commodities Exchange Limited promoted by the United Planters Association of Southern India has decided to organise roadshows for futures trading in tea. In a statement issued the Convenor, UPASI Core Committee on Tea Futures, N. Dharmaraj, said to meet competition, the Union Government had permitted futures trading in almost all the agricultural commodities, including tea, coffee and rubber. The UPASI Commodities Exchange was all set to introduce a state-of-the-art online trading platform.

Mr. Dharmaraj said a marketing team would help producers, traders, manufacturers and brokers understand the usefulness of futures trading in tea. The team would organise a workshop at the premises of the Tea Trade Association of Coimbatore on December 19, he added. — Our Special Correspondent
