Maharashtra fights back

Cuttack Dec. 2 . Skittled out for a paltry 77 in its first essay, Maharashtra, on Tuesday, came back into the game by batting solidly in its second innings against Orissa on the second day of the Ranji Trophy plate match at the Barabati Stadium here.

The visitor first dismissed the host for 204 and then reached a comfortable 161 for two in its second knock when stumps were drawn.

At close, opener Dhiraj Jadhav was batting on a fine 81 (11 fours) with Kaushik Aphale (17 batting) for company.
