IT directory launched

By Our Special Correspondent

Bangalore Dec. 2. The third edition of Karnataka IT Info.com Directory and CD has been launched by City Info Services, database specialists. The directory project received support from the State Government's Information Technology and Biotechnology Department, Software Technology Parks of India, Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council, MAIT (Manufacturers' Association for Information Technology), and TIE (The Indus Entrepreneurs). Deccan Herald is a partner. The IT Directory/CD has information on existing and upcoming companies in IT, BPO, and biotechnology sectors. Details such as contact persons of different companies, their areas of specialisation, employee strength, products, and services offered are available. Strategic information on the "who's who" and "what's what" in the IT industry is available at the fingertips of users. According to K.P. Shetty, Managing Director of City Info Services, the objective of publishing the directory is to facilitate the growth of the industry and promote business opportunities in Karnataka. The target users include marketing companies, financial consultants, airlines, advertising agencies, hotels, BPOs, and human resources consultants. "It can also help job seekers, potential service providers to the IT industry, or any organisation setting up new projects in Bangalore,'' Mr. Shetty says.
