Discom simplifies service connection norms

By Our Special Correspondent

Hyderabad Dec. 2. The Central Power Distribution Company has announced simplification of the procedures regarding transfer of name/title pertaining to service connections for avoiding delay.

Accordingly, the official who receives applications for new connections will also be the competent authority for transfer of the connection to a different name/title and that the application need not be routed through assistant accounts officer as is being done now.

The Discom, according to an official press note, has authorised the section officer to approve the transfer with respect to LT category connections on receipt of applications with supporting documents, including the title deed of the property.

In case of LT industrial category, the consumer has to apply to the DE concerned and the one coming under the HT category, to the circle office.
